Chris highlights Labour's failure on social mobility at debate at Bath University
14 November 2009
Chris was invited to speak at a debate at Bath University on the subject of Social Mobility, a subject close to Chris' heart. In his speech, Chris argued how under Labour, the gap between the richest and the poorest has actually increased- quoting from Labour ministers who agree that it has become harder than ever for people from council estate backgrounds to succeed under the current government. Having written several publications on this topic, Chris talked about ways in which education reform and social housing reform would be able to address this problem, and how in Kingswood there are fantastic local charities that are working hard to tackle social disadvantage on every level.
