CHRIS SKIDMORE MP TO RAISE AWARENESS OF DONATING BLOOD
29th June 2010
The MP for Kingswood, Chris Skidmore, will be giving blood this Friday 2nd July, 2.30pm at Cadbury Heath Hall to raise awareness of this key life saving service.
Chris comments, "Currently only 4% of eligible adults give blood in this Country with the South and South West alone using over 6,000 units a week and 7,000 units needed nationally every day. I am giving blood this Friday to show local people how easy and simple it is but also that one donation can save the lives of up to three people.
I have O RhD negative blood which means that my blood can be given to anyone safely if their blood group is unknown. I am urging anyone who is eligible to give blood to find their nearest donation session by going to www.blood.co.uk or by calling 0300 123 23 23 and help save a life today."
Press and photographers welcome to attend.
