Save the great British Pub

Bitton resident and prospective MP for Kingswood Chris Skidmore is launching a new campaign in an attempt to help save the Great British Pub.

Over 33% of the price of every pint goes in Beer Tax to the Chancellor with the Government planning to increase tax further.

Chris Skidmore said 'The Government said they wanted to tax alcohol to encourage responsible drinking. But instead of increasing tax on the binge drinks, such alcopops, they are targetting sensible drinkers in our village pubs.'

'Already the White Hart at Bitton has closed and 6 every week across the Country are closing their doors.'
