Chris Skidmore MP is launching a new “Jobs In Focus” webinar series to help showcase local job and training opportunities for Kingswood residents.
The first online session of this series will take place on Friday 11th September at 2pm, with details on how local constituents are able to register their interest and attend this event due to be published on Chris’ website and social media in the coming weeks.
Each webinar will focus on a separate sector, with the first one planned for this autumn featuring representatives from local retailers and supermarket chains, and an apprenticeships webinar planned for later in the year.
The Member of Parliament for Kingswood has been organising Jobs Fairs in his constituency for the past ten years, bringing together a wide range of local employers offering a variety of vacancies.
This year, due to the challenges posed by the Coronavirus outbreak and the difficulties in hosting physical Jobs Fairs locally, the MP has decided to take the event online.
The upcoming September 11th webinar will see a panel of retailers and local employers offering helpful information on the work opportunities available within the Kingswood area and across South Gloucestershire. The event will also help young people and adults looking for work access advice and information on careers and opportunities.
Full details on how to join will be published on Chris Skidmore MP’s website at chrisskidmore.com and on his Facebook page (facebook.com/chrisskidmoreofficial) nearer to the time.
The webinar will also be live streamed on Chris’ Facebook page on the day, and participants can submit questions for the Q&A session in advance when registering, or by emailing email@example.com
Chris said: “It has been a difficult few months for all of us and as we all navigate our new normal in the Coronavirus recovery period, I know everyone is doing their part to support people in our community back into work.
Our Jobs Fairs are a great way to put local talent in touch with employers and I am delighted to host this series of virtual events in partnership with local businesses and employers, and to be able to highlight job opportunities and advice for local residents and young people during these unprecedented times.”
